HEAD COACH

Yasmin Brooks

Yasmin Brooks is the founder of Brooks Athletics and Leadership Academy. Brooks was raised in West Philadelphia, “The home of the birds and brotherly love”. When Brooks was younger she always wanted to join sport clubs but never had the opportunity to sports due to the lack of resources. She started running in 8th grade where she was a new student at Central Dauphin East Middle School. Brooks ran the 400, 4x1, 100, high jump and 200. At Susquehanna Township High School as a new student again, Brooks did any and every event possible. She competed in the 100mh, 300mh, 200m, 100m, long jump, 4x1, 4x4, 400 and even the heptathlon. Brooks had great success in each event, however, her greatest success was in hurdles where she became a district and state champion. Brooks attended college at TCU, PSU, and UK where she created history. Brooks first real coaching experience was at Paul Laurence Dunbar in Lexington, Kentucky where athletes achieved 30 personal records within one season. Brooks now helps coaching along side the EWU track & field team as a leader who motivates, educates and direct student-athletes in the right direction.

ASSOCIATE COACHING

Brandon Coppin,

My passion for track and field ignited early, fueled by watching the Olympics as a child.  As an athlete, I faced challenges, but learned perseverance and discipline.  Specializing in hurdles (though I started competing in 10th grade), I achieved personal bests that still stand as my high school records.  I also loved the raw adrenaline of sprinting in the 100m, 4x100m, and 400m races.  For the past six years, I've coached high school and club athletes, sharing my knowledge and passion.  I focus on technique, mental toughness, and fostering a supportive environment where athletes can reach their full potential.  Seeing them succeed is incredibly rewarding.
